Integration of periodic, sub‐wavelength structures in silicon‐on‐insulator photonic device design

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 125-135, June 2020., 2020
Rapid advances in high‐resolution chip lithography have accelerated nanophotonic device development on the silicon‐on‐insulator (SOI) platform. The ability to create sub‐wavelength features in silicon has attracted research in photonic band and dispersion engineering and consequently made available a wide array of device functionalities.

180 Gbit/s 4:1 power multiplexer for NRZ‐OOK signals with high output voltage swing in SiGe BiCMOS technology

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 56, Issue 2, Page 69-71, January 2020., 2020
A 4:1 multiplexer (MUX) circuit in SiGe BiCMOS technology intended to directly drive a plasmonic Mach–Zehnder modulator for transmitter applications is presented. To achieve the highest data rates at a high output voltage swing, a power MUX concept is applied that maps the high‐speed performance of the final clock signal onto the output data.
