Diagnostics of Autoimmune Hepatitis Enabled by Non‐Invasive Clinical Proteomics

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 62, Issue 9, Page 901-919, November 2025.
Mass‐spectrometry‐based proteomic analyses of paired liver‐plasma samples from patients with AIH enabled discovery of numerous proteins showing high diagnostic accuracy. Proteomics may constitute a novel non‐invasive diagnostic tool for AIH if validated in larger, age‐ and sex‐matched cohorts.

A Rapid Review Contrasting the Evidence on Avian Influenza A(H5Nx) Clades 2.3.4.4b and 2.3.2.1c in Humans

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, Volume 72, Issue 7, Page 553-586, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Avian influenza viruses (AIV) circulate in wild and domestic bird populations, posing an on‐going risk for zoonotic transmission and virus adaptation to mammals and humans. The A(H5Nx) clades 2.3.2.1c and 2.3.4.4b currently circulating have caused sporadic infections in humans.

Decoding Glycosylation in Neurodegenerative Diseases: Mechanistic Insights and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 20, 31 October 2025.
Graphical summary of glycosylation impairments in various neurodegenerative disorders. Among the diverse forms of glycosylation, the most extensively studied include N‐glycosylation, O‐glycosylation, and O‐GlcNAcylation. Aberrant glycosylation has been implicated in multiple neurodegenerative conditions.

Assay System Based on Metabolic Glycoengineering‐Enabled Click Chemistry for the Efficient Evaluation of Complement‐Regulatory Peptide Coatings on Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 19, October 6, 2025.
Metabolic glycoengineering combined with click chemistry efficiently immobilizes clickable factor H (FH)‐binding peptides onto endothelial cell surfaces, creating stable, uniform coatings that recruit FH and enhance resistance to complement‐mediated inflammation.

A Glycoproteome Data Mining Strategy for Characterizing Structural Features of Altered Glycans with Thymic Involution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 38, October 13, 2025.
This study presents a comprehensive data mining strategy for in‐depth extraction of overall and altered glycan features from structural and site‐specific glycoproteome data across various biomedical samples. The strategy enables the uncovery of four major altered glycan features associated with thymic involution and reveals their coordinated ...
