Mesoporous SiC with Potential Catalytic Application by Electrochemical Dissolution of Polycrystalline 3C-SiC [PDF]
Electrochemical dissolution of highly doped (ρ ∼ 1 mΩ·cm, n-type) polycrystalline 3C-SiC in HF/H2O and HF/H2O/ethanol solutions allowed production of porous silicon carbide (por-SiC) and soluble carbon fluorooxide nanoparticles as a byproduct.

We report a unique color‐sensing phenomenon of a TiO2/SbSI:Sb2S3 device utilizing X‐ray absorption. Based on the revealed penetration and adsorption of water onto TiO2, we successfully improved the color response speed and sensitivity by incorporating a hydrophilic polymer interlayer, thereby opening up opportunities for photodetection applications ...

In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

This article is a response to both a Letter to the Editor by Dr Ambily Banerjee (Banerjee, 2007) and the recent UCL Gender Equality Event. Dr Banerjee claimed to be ‘astounded’ to find a ‘glass ceiling’ (sic) within her own discipline, Anatomy. She concludes her letter with, ‘I have never believed motherhood is a valid excuse for not realising one’s ...

This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...
