From strike-slip to reverse reactivation: The Crevillente Fault System and seismicity in the Bullas-Mula area (Betic Cordillera, SE Spain)

open access: yesGeologica Acta, 2005
Several major N80ºE faults occur in the Bullas-Mula area (SE Spain). These faults and the numerous thrust slices of the Sierra de Ricote can be related to the movements of the Crevillente (or Cadiz-Alicante) fault system, which causes the westward ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Cerium oxide nanoparticles and metformin increase the reliability of the prooxidant/antioxidant balance and the survival of ageing rats

open access: yesДоповiдi Нацiональної академiї наук України
In comparison with the action of metformin — mimetic of the calorie restricted diet, which prolong the animals lifespan, it has been studied the effect of nanoparticles of cerium dioxide (CeO2 NPs (1-2 nm)) on survival, physiological indices (the ...

Тонкі плівки оксиду диспрозію, утворені при швидкому термічному відпалі на пористих підкладках SiC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we consider the effect of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the properties of Dy2O3 film formed on the surface of a substrate with a por-SiC/SiC structure.

Enhancing Strength and Electrical Conductivity in Al–Zr–Sc Conductor Alloys Through Sn and Sr Microalloying and Two‐Step Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...
