The synthesis of conjugated polymers with different length side chains and the effect on their nanoparticles

open access: yesAIMS Materials Science, 2018
In recent years, conjugated polymers (CPs) and their nanoparticles (CPNs) were widely concerned and applied in many fields due to their outstanding advantages such as higher absorption coefficients, good photostability, low toxicity and good ...

Transmission in a Fano-Anderson chain with a topological defect [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 103, 155111 (2021), 2020
The Fano-Anderson chain consists of a linear lattice with a discrete side-unit, and exhibits Fano-resonant scattering due to coupling between the discrete states of the side-unit with the tight-binding continuum. We study Fano-resonance-assisted transport for the case of a topologically non-trivial side unit.

Detection of Side Chain Rearrangements Mediating the Motions of Transmembrane Helices in Molecular Dynamics Simulations of G Protein-Coupled Receptors. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Structure and dynamics are essential elements of protein function. Protein structure is constantly fluctuating and undergoing conformational changes, which are captured by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.

An Investigation of Atomic Structures Derived from X-ray Crystallography and Cryo-Electron Microscopy Using Distal Blocks of Side-Chains

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is a structure determination method for large molecular complexes. As more and more atomic structures are determined using this technique, it is becoming possible to perform statistical characterization of side-chain ...

Effect of Alkyl Side Chain Length on Doping Kinetics, Thermopower, and Charge Transport Properties in Highly Oriented F4TCNQ-Doped PBTTT Films.

open access: yesACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2019
Doping of polymer semiconductors such as poly(2,5-bis(3-alkylthiophen-2-yl)thieno[3,2- b]thiophene) (PBTTT) with acceptor molecules such as 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (F4TCNQ) is widely used to tune the charge transport and ...

Morphology Optimization via Side Chain Engineering Enables All-Polymer Solar Cells with Excellent Fill Factor and Stability.

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2018
All-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) composed of conjugated polymers as both donor and acceptor components in bulk heterojunction photoactive layers have attracted increasing attention.

Foreword [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
Model Quality Assessment Programs (MQAPs) are used to predict the quality of modeled protein structures. These usually use two approaches: methods using consensus of many alternative models and methods requiring only a single model to do its prediction ...

Control of the Organization of 4,4′-bis(carbazole)-1,1′-biphenyl (CBP) Molecular Materials through Siloxane Functionalization

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
We show that through the introduction of short dimethylsiloxane chains, it was possible to suppress the crystalline state of CBP in favor of various types of organization, transitioning from a soft crystal to a fluid liquid crystal mesophase, then to a ...

Cross-chain between a Parent Chain and Multiple Side Chains [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In certain Blockchain systems, multiple Blockchains are required to operate cooperatively for security, performance, and capacity considerations. This invention defines a cross-chain mechanism where a main Blockchain issues the tokens, which can then be transferred and used in multiple side Blockchains to drive their operations.

Structure and stability of cyclic peptide based nanotubes : a molecular dynamics study of the influence of amino acid composition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The stability of self-assembling cyclic peptides (CPs) is attained by the intermolecular backbone–backbone hydrogen bonding (H-bonding) interactions. In addition to these H-bonding interactions, the self-assembled CPs are further stabilized by various ...
