Sidelobe suppression techniques for laser diode arrays
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1986Evanescent coupling, interconnected Y waveguides, and external cavities have been used to phase lock arrays of lasers into a coherent ensemble. The amount of energy which is coupled into the central far-field lobe is determined by the phases of the individual lasers as well as the array fill factor.

Adaptive orthogonal projective decomposition in sidelobe suppression
Proceedings. 2005 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2005., 2005Binary sequences have been successfully employed in spread spectrum communication system (SSCS) and radar detection, and suppression of range sidelobe is a critical technique in SSCS and radar applications. In this paper, orthogonal projective decomposition combined with adaptive technology (AOP) is introduced to sidelobe suppression with its Doppler ...

Sidelobe suppression using convolutional windows in radar
International Journal of Signal and Imaging Systems Engineering, 2012The matched filter output of pulse compression radar is associated with range sidelobes along with the mainlobe. To reduce these sidelobes, different types of windows are used as weighing function at the receiver. When the target is in motion, the reflected signal is Doppler-shifted version of the original transmitted signal.

Radar sidelobe suppression using nearly-orthogonal waveforms
2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP), 2014In the radar field, waveform range sidelobes are undesirable and in this paper, we concern a method that generalizes nearly-orthogonal multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar waveforms into conventional radar to further suppress sidelobes after coherent accumulation.

Sidelob suppression in unequally spaced antenna arrays
2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology, 2008An approach of sidelob suppressing in radiation pattern of an unequally spaced array antennas is presented in this paper. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm in combination with gradient methods was applied to determine elements positions in uniformly excited array.

Sidelobe suppression in grating-assisted wavelength-selective couplers
Optics Letters, 1992This study proposes and implements an analysis of sidelobe suppression by means of a tapered duty ratio in a phase-matched grating for a vertical codirectional coupler. With a truncated Gaussian taper assumed, the results of this study show that a cross-talk level of lower than -40 dB in a channel spacing of 5 nm is feasible with a 1-mm coupling length

Sidelobe suppression in small Josephson junctions
Cryogenics, 1991Abstract Many applications of Josephson junctions require that the sidelobes of the critical-current patterns as a function of magnetic field be as small as possible. The sidelobes can be significantly suppressed by appropriate choice of junction geometry. This paper emphasizes that suppression is not just a long-junction effect.

Novel biphase code — Integrated sidelobe suppression code
Journal of Electronics (China), 2004A kind of novel binary phase code named sidelobe suppression code is proposed in this paper. It is defined to be the code whose corresponding optimal sidelobe suppression filter outputs the minimum sidelobes. It is shown that there do exist sidelobe suppression codes better than the conventional optimal codes—Barker codes.

Suppression of quantization sidelobes of phased arrays
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium, 2004., 2004Phase quantization errors appear in phased arrays utilizing the digital phase shifter for beam steering. And this cause relatively high parasitic sidelobes - quantization sidelobes. In consequence, the anti-interference ability of phased arrays decreases. The dependence of the array pattern on the rounding up probability is analyzed.

Range sidelobe suppression based on Gold sequence
2016 17th International Radar Symposium (IRS), 2016There are high range sidelobes for Pseudo-random Code Phase Modulation Continuous Wave (PRC-CW) radar due to the characteristics of the code waveform. In order to suppress the range sidelobes and improve the detection performance, we present a method on the basis of Gold sequence.
