Active quasi circulator: Comprehensive review and performance comparison
To cope up with the increased data transmission rate due to the modern multiband wireless communication systems, the three‐port circulator must be equipped with the ability to operate in different frequency levels while having adequate bandwidth. Thus, designing circulator as an antenna interface device becomes a challenging, particularly active‐quasi ...

A compact 60‐GHz on‐chip bandpass filter in GaAs technology
A compact 60‐GHz on‐chip bandpass filter (BPF) is presented using gallium arsenide (GaAs) technology. The measurements show that it has a centre frequency of 60.2 GHz with a bandwidth of 14%, and the minimum insertion loss (IL) within the passband is 2.57 dB. The chip size, excluding the feedings, is about 0.265 mm × 0.184 mm. Abstract A compact 60‐GHz

Morphological Relaxation of Strained Epitaxial Films for Stripe‐Geometry Devices
A new morphological evolution describing the relaxation of a strained epitaxial film deposited on a pattern with a stripe geometry is reported, paradigmatic of 2D like systems, and characteristic of transistors channels geometry. Both the elastic equation and surface diffusion equation are analytically solved, and reveal the different resulting ...

Abstract A 19‐GHz low‐phase‐noise PLL‐frequency synthesizer is presented in this letter that is intended to be used in a K‐band FMCW radar which requires strict phase noise for detecting a small unmanned aerial vehicle. The 17.9 to 19.5‐GHz PLL includes a Darlington cross‐coupled capacitive‐degeneration VCO which presents higher maximum attainable ...

Characterization of an embedded RF-MEMS switch [PDF]
An RF-MEMS capacitive switch for mm-wave integrated circuits, embedded in the BEOL of 0.25μm BiCMOS process, has been characterized. First, a mechanical model based on Finite-Element-Method (FEM) was developed by taking the residual stress of the thin ...

An X-Band low-power and low-phase-noise VCO using bondwire inductor [PDF]
In this paper a low-power low-phase-noise voltage-controlled-oscillator (VCO) has been designed and, fabricated in 0.25 μm SiGe BiCMOS process. The resonator of the VCO is implemented with on-chip MIM capacitors and a single aluminum bondwire.
