Sigma-model symmetry in orientifold models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2000
We investigate in the simplest compact D=4 N=1 Type IIB orientifold models the sigma-model symmetry suggested by the proposed duality of these models to heterotic orbifold vacua. This symmetry is known to be present at the classical level, and is associated to a composite connection involving untwisted moduli in the low-energy supergravity theory.

NONLINEAR SIGMA MODEL ON CONIFOLDS [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 2002
Explicit solutions to the conifold equations with complex dimension n = 3, 4 in terms of complex coordinates (fields) are employed to construct the Ricci-flat Kähler metrics on these manifolds. The Kähler two-forms are found to be closed. The complex realization of these conifold metrics are used in the construction of two-dimensional nonlinear sigma ...

Supergravity solution-generating techniques and canonical transformations of σ-models from O(D, D)

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
Within the framework of the flux formulation of Double Field Theory (DFT) we employ a generalised Scherk-Schwarz ansatz and discuss the classification of the twists that in the presence of the strong constraint give rise to constant generalised fluxes ...

Pseudoduality in sigma models [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2002
We revisit classical "on shell" duality, i.e., pseudoduality, in two dimensional conformally invariant classical sigma models and find some new interesting results. We show that any two sigma models that are "on shell" duals have opposite 1-loop renormalization group beta functions because of the integrability conditions for the pseudoduality ...

SUPERSYMMETRIC SIGMA MODELS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
We begin to construct the most general supersymmetric Lagrangians in one, two and four dimensions. We find that the matter couplings have a natural interpretation in the language of the nonlinear sigma model.

Supersymmetric Sigma Model Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2012
This is a review of how sigma models formulated in Superspace have become important tools for understanding geometry. Topics included are: The (hyper)kähler reduction; projective superspace; the generalized Legendre construction; generalized Kähler geometry and constructions of hyperkähler metrics on Hermitian symmetric spaces.

T-duality in (2, 1) superspace

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We find the T-duality transformation rules for 2-dimensional (2,1) supersymmetric sigma-models in (2,1) superspace. Our results clarify certain aspects of the (2,1) sigma model geometry relevant to the discussion of T-duality.
