Giant Electrostriction in Halide Perovskites Revisited With Double‐Modulation Interferometry
A giant electrostrictive effect in lead halide perovskites had been reported previously. This work uses sensitive interferometry to measure the electromechanical response of various halide perovskite samples. The results reveal no intrinsic electrostrictive compression. Instead, the materials expand primarily under an applied electric field as a result

Optical Microfiber All-Optical Phase Modulator for Fiber Optic Hydrophone
In order to meet the needs of phase generated carrier (PGC) demodulation technology for interferometric fiber optic hydrophones, we proposed an optical microfiber all-optical phase modulator (OMAOPM) based on the photo-induced thermal phase shift effect,

Generating Unconventional Spin‐Orbit Torques With Patterned Phase Gradients in Tungsten Thin Films
ABSTRACT A key aim in spintronics is to achieve current‐induced magnetization switching via spin‐orbit torques without external magnetic fields. For this, the focus of recent work has been on introducing controlled lateral gradients across ferromagnet/heavy‐metal devices, giving variations in thickness, composition, or interface quality.

A Local Modulation Signal Bispectrum for Multiple Amplitude and Frequency Modulation Demodulation in Gearbox Fault Diagnosis [PDF]
This paper proposes a novel multiple amplitude modulation and frequency modulation (AM-FM) demodulation method based on local modulation signal bispectrum (LMSB), which can demodulate the fault features of different components from the gearbox signal ...

Electrically Coded Retinomorphic Spectrophotodetector
Self‐powered retinomorphic pyro‐photodetector is demonstrated that avoids machine‐learning post‐processing and covers 365–940 nm. Electrostatic balancing of built‐in potential produces an electrical wavelength code, delivering <3 nm wavelength decoding accuracy with ∼46 µs response.

A robust fault detection method of rolling bearings using modulation signal bispectrum analysis [PDF]
Envelope analysis is a widely used method for bearing fault detection. To obtain high detection accuracy, it is critical to select an optimal narrowband for envelope demodulation.

α‐MoO3 is established as a high‐index, low‐loss anisotropic platform bridging mid‐infrared polaritonics and ultraviolet‐visible nanophotonics. Spectroscopic ellipsometry and calculations reveal refractive indices exceeding 3.9, with the largest in‐plane birefringence among transparent layered crystals at 425–500 nm, enabling zero‐order UV waveplates ...
