Improvement of BM3D Algorithm and Employment to Satellite and CFA Images Denoising

open access: yes, 2011
This paper proposes a new procedure in order to improve the performance of block matching and 3-D filtering (BM3D) image denoising algorithm. It is demonstrated that it is possible to achieve a better performance than that of BM3D algorithm in a variety ...

Signal denoising using matching pursuits [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995
This paper will examine in brevity the matching pursuit algorithm proposed by Mallat and Zhang which yields an adaptive signal decomposition that may be used to derive a phase plane representation of a signal. Matching pursuits is closely related to wavelet analysis and may be considered a superset of wavelet multiresolution analysis. A methodology for

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Application of a Novel Wavelet Shrinkage Scheme to Partial Discharge Signal Denoising of Large Generators

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Partial Discharge (PD) measurements of large generators are extremely affected and hampered by noise, making the denoising of PD signal an inevitable issue. Wavelet shrinkage is the most commonly employed method for PD signal denoising.

From Denoising to Compressed Sensing

open access: yes, 2016
A denoising algorithm seeks to remove noise, errors, or perturbations from a signal. Extensive research has been devoted to this arena over the last several decades, and as a result, today's denoisers can effectively remove large amounts of additive ...
