Modulation techniques for data superposition on amplitude-modulated signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Double-sideband amplitude-modulation is widely used because of its simplicity in transmission and reception, but in a number of applications the inclusion of a data channel has become an additional requirement.

Signal Detection and Modulation Classification for Satellite Communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Amateur ground stations are gaining increasing importance as both academic and hobby activities. However, due to the limited energy resources available in amateur satellites, ground stations need to be located in isolated places in order to establish a ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Extracellular modulators of Wnt signalling

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Structural Biology, 2014
Wnt morphogens are secreted signalling proteins that play leading roles in embryogenesis and tissue homeostasis throughout life. Wnt signalling is controlled by multiple mechanisms, including posttranslational modification of Wnts, antagonist binding (to Wnts or their receptors), and regulation of the availability of Wnt receptors.

A new method of accurate broken rotor bar diagnosis based on modulation signal bispectrum analysis of motor current signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Motor current signature analysis (MCSA) has been an effective way of monitoring electrical machines for many years. However, inadequate accuracy in diagnosing incipient broken rotor bars (BRB) has motivated many studies into improving this method.

A Two-Dimensional Frequency Modulation Deception Jamming Against ISAR

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper proposes a false target jamming method for countering ISAR based on two-dimensional frequency modulation. The target template is created according to the ISAR image of a true target.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Adaptive redundant residue number system coded multicarrier modulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The novel class of nonbinary maximum minimum distance redundant residue number system (RRNS) codes is invoked in the context of adaptively RRNS coded, symbol-by-symbol adaptive multicarrier modulation, in order to combat the effects of frequency ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
