PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Signals and Systems: Towards a Systems Biology of Signal Transduction

Proceedings of the IEEE, 2008
Systems biology seeks to understand how the behavior of cells and organisms arises from the collective interactions of their component molecules. I will discuss how signal transduction- the process by which cells sense and respond to external signals - is being reconsidered from a systems perspective. This relies on ideas and concepts from the physical

Aircraft Signal Systems

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1944
Because the selection of aircraft warning devices has not, in most signal installations, provided the pilot with dependable warnings of dangerous conditions, this paper proposes that aircraft signal devices should be designed and stalled in compliance with the pilot's requirements as expressed in three design principles.

The Signal System

2010
What are the major components of body language? What are the most important nonverbal behaviors we need to attend to? What do very specific behaviors tell us? Traditionally, researchers have “split up” the different types of bodily communication. Thus there are books, papers and experts on eye gaze as well as experts focusing on gestures alone.

Signals, Systems, and Signal Processing

This innovative introduction to the foundations of signals, systems, and transforms emphasises discrete-time concepts, smoothing the transition towards more advanced study in Digital Signal Processing (DSP). A digital-first approach, introducing discrete-time concepts from the beginning, equips students with a firm theoretical foundation in signals and
