Identification of Signatures Transmitted over Rayleigh Fading Channel by Using HMM and RLE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2014
The Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is a frequently used tool in scientific research for recognizing pattern. This study discusses signature recognition using HMM where the signature image is transmitted from the remote station to the headquarter office by ...

On-line signature recognition through the combination of real dynamic data and synthetically generated static data

open access: yes, 2015
On-line signature verification still remains a challenging task within biometrics. Due to their behavioural nature (opposed to anatomic biometric traits), signatures present a notable variability even between successive realizations. This leads to higher

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Off-Line Handwritten Signature Recognition by Wavelet Entropy and Neural Network

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
Handwritten signatures are widely utilized as a form of personal recognition. However, they have the unfortunate shortcoming of being easily abused by those who would fake the identification or intent of an individual which might be very harmful ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
