Enhanced weathering performance of epoxy/ZnO nanocomposite coatings via functionalization of ZnO UV blockers with amino and glycidoxy silane coupling agents

, 2020
This paper aims at improving the weathering performance of an epoxy coating via surface treatment of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles with different silane coupling agents.

Enhanced thermal conductivity of a polysilazane-coated A-BN/epoxy composite following surface treatment with silane coupling agents

, 2020
Spherically aggregated boron nitride (BN) is advantageous for improving thermal conductivity. However, it is difficult to process due to its fragility and poor wettability.

Injection-molded parts of fully bio-based polyamide 1010 strengthened with waste derived slate fibers pretreated with glycidyl- and amino-silane coupling agents

Polymer testing, 2019
Fully bio-based polyamide 1010 (PA1010) was melt-compounded with 15 wt% of slate fibers (SFs), which were obtained from wastes of the tile industry, and the resultant composites were shaped into parts by injection molding.

Silica and diatomite fillers modified fluorine rubber composites treated by silane‐coupling agents

Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, 2019
The fluorine rubber nanocomposites were prepared by using the silane‐coupling agents treated silica and diatomite, in which 3‐amino propyltriethoxysilane (KH550), 3‐mercapto‐propyl trimethoxysilane (KH590), and bis‐(γ‐triethoxysilylpropyl)‐tetrasulfide ...

Effect of silane coupling agents on properties and performance of polycarbonate/silica MMMs

Polymer testing, 2019
The choice of amine terminated silanes remain scarce although they have been used as coupling agents to enhance silica dispersion and interaction in polymer matrix.

Silane Coupling Agent Structures on Carbon Nanofibers

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2011
Carbon nanofibers (CNFs) are considered ideal materials for reinforcing polymers due to their excellent mechanical properties, among others. In order to obtain composites of optimal properties the clue is to enhance the interaction between reinforcement (CNFs) and polymer matrix.

Raman studies of silane coupling agents

Materials Science and Engineering, 1975
Abstract Raman spectroscopy is used for the silane coupling agents to identify these organosilicon compounds. The organo functional groups exhibit unique, strong Raman lines and their reactions can be characterized. The chemical reactions of the -CSiO3 group can be followed easily and differences in chemical structure detected.

Urushiol-derived non-silane coupling agent

Polymer, 2017
Abstract Sulfur was chemically incorporated into urushiol in one step to afford an oligomeric sulfurized urushiol (SU). About 53% of the linkages between urushiol monomer units are cleavable multi-sulfidic bonds. Surface modification of silica with SU can be achieved either in a suspension before rubber compounding or in situ during rubber ...
