An axiom set for similarities is presented together with a set‐theoretic definition of multidimensional similarity consistent with the axioms. A special case of relative similarity judgement, involving the simultaneous comparison of three stimulus pairs, called ‘quadratic similarities’, is empirically illustrated and related to the theory. The goodness

Similarity Reasoning and Similarity Transformations
2007 IEEE International Conference on Control and Automation, 2007Based on similarity science and extension logic, this paper presents further exploration on a novel reasoning called similarity reasoning for solving incompatible problems. The reasoning is driven by problems and their solving. It aims to solve incompatible problems by using similarity transformations.

Fast similarities: Efficiency advantages of similarity-focused comparisons.
Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 2011People constantly have to make efficient use of their limited cognitive resources. Recently, T. Mussweiler and K. Epstude (2009) demonstrated that comparative thinking simplifies information processing and increases the efficiency of judgment. However, there are different types of comparative thinking.

Melodic Similarity through Shape Similarity
2011We present a new geometric model to compute the melodic similarity of symbolic musical pieces. Melodies are represented as splines in the pitch-time plane, and their similarity is computed as the similarity of their shape. The model is very intuitive and it is transposition and time scale invariant.

Similar Characteristics of Similar Series
2019One of the most important subjects of mathematics is sequences; and one of the most striking seriesis Fibonacci series. The purpose of this study is to create series similar to Fibonacci series and toinvestigate whether these series have characteristics similar to those of Fibonacci series; and to provethese characteristics, if any.
