Detecting image differences based on reference EMD-filters [PDF]
In our previous works dealing with detecting differences in images in the case of substantial variations in brightness and geometry of an object, we proposed a morphological scheme for image analysis based on diffusion and reference mosaic filters.

Diffusion Maps for Multimodal Registration
Multimodal image registration is a difficult task, due to the significant intensity variations between the images. A common approach is to use sophisticated similarity measures, such as mutual information, that are robust to those intensity variations ...

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Filter Cleaning Using Gas Injection [PDF]
A filter cleaning process using gas injection is considered. An estimate for the minimum mass flow rate out of the gas injector and the corresponding injector/filter geometry is found. The estimates are based on a similarity solution for a free turbulent

Screening effects in flow through rough channels [PDF]
A surprising similarity is found between the distribution of hydrodynamic stress on the wall of an irregular channel and the distribution of flux from a purely Laplacian field on the same geometry.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

Log-aesthetic Curves as Similarity Geometric Analogue of Euler's Elasticae
In this paper we consider the log-aesthetic curves and their generalization which are used in CAGD. We consider those curves under similarity geometry and characterize them as stationary integrable flow on plane curves which is governed by the Burgers ...

In this paper, we present a novel approach for reconstructing 3D geometry from a stream of images captured by a consumer-grade mobile RGB-D sensor. In contrast to previous real-time online approaches that process each incoming image in acquisition order,
