A geometric framework for modelling similarity search
The aim of this paper is to propose a geometric framework for modelling similarity search in large and multidimensional data spaces of general nature, which seems to be flexible enough to address such issues as analysis of complexity, indexability, and ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

We have investigated quasi-eigenmodes of a quadrupolar deformed microcavity by extensive numerical calculations. The spectral structure is found to be quite regular, which can be explained on the basis of the fact that the microcavity is an open system ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Log-aesthetic Curves as Similarity Geometric Analogue of Euler's Elasticae
In this paper we consider the log-aesthetic curves and their generalization which are used in CAGD. We consider those curves under similarity geometry and characterize them as stationary integrable flow on plane curves which is governed by the Burgers ...

Liquid jet eruption from hollow relaxation [PDF]
A cavity hollowed out on a free liquid surface is relaxing, forming an intense liquid jet. Using a model experiment where a short air pulse sculpts an initial large crater, we depict the different stages in the gravitational cavity collapse and in the ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Similarity-Projection Structures: The Logical Geometry of Quantum Physics [PDF]
Similarity-Projection structures abstract the numerical properties of real scalar product of rays and projections in Hilbert spaces to provide a more general framework for Quantum Physics. They are characterized by properties that possess direct physical meaning.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
