The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Policy Similarity Measure for Two-Player Zero-Sum Games

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Policy space response oracles (PSRO) is an important algorithmic framework for approximating Nash equilibria in two-player zero-sum games. Enhancing policy diversity has been shown to improve the performance of PSRO in this approximation process ...

Network Similarity Measure and Ediz Eccentric Connectivity Index

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Network similarity measures have proven essential in the field of network analysis. Also, topological indices have been used to quantify the topology of networks and have been well studied.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Detection of Moving Objects in Video Using a Robust

open access: yes, 2007
This correspondence deals with the segmentation of a video clip into independently moving visual objects. This is an important step in structuring video data for storage in digital libraries. The method follows a bottom-up approach.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Text categorization and similarity analysis: similarity measure, architecture and design

open access: yes, 2013
This research looks at the most appropriate similarity measure to use for a document classification problem. The goal is to find a method that is accurate in finding both semantically and version related documents.

Securely computing a similarity measure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The present invention relates to a method and a system of securely computing a measure of similarity for at least two sets of data. A basic idea of the present invention is to securely compare two sets of encrypted data to determine whether the two sets ...
