Analysis of Traub’s Method for Cubic Polynomials

open access: yesAxioms
The dynamical analysis of Kurchatov’s scheme is extended to Traub’s method. The difference here is that Traub’s method requires two additional starting points. Therefore, the map is three-dimensional instead of 2-D.

A General Family of Fifth-Order Methods for Finding Simple Roots of Nonlinear Equations

open access: yesWalailak Journal of Science and Technology, 2012
In this paper, a new fifth-order family of methods free from second derivative is obtained. The new iterative family contains the King’s, which is one of the most well-known family of methods for solving nonlinear equations, and some other known methods ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A Simple Panel-CADF Test for Unit Roots [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we propose a simple extension to the panel case of the covariate- augmented Dickey Fuller (CADF) test for unit roots developed in Hansen (1995).

On the Number of Real Roots of a System of Trancendental Equations in a Given Domain

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика"
The paper is devoted to the study of the number of real roots of general systems of transcendental equations with real Taylor coefficients in some domain $D$ of multidimensional real space.

Measurement of 33P-PO4 Absorption Capacity and Root-to-leaf Transfer in Arabidopsis

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2016
This method allows quantification of phosphate absorption capacity by Arabidopsis roots using very simple equipment, and can be scaled up or down.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Effective and Simple NaOH-Modification Method to Remove Methyl Violet Dye via Ipomoea aquatica Roots

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2021
In this study, a simple chemical modification was applied to a sustainable and abundantly available resource, kangkong root (KR), to remove methyl violet 2B (MV) dye. The chemically modified adsorbent (NaOH-KR) was obtained using NaOH solution treatment.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
