Upscaling the Strength Domain of Heterogeneous Cohesive‐Frictional Materials via a General FFT‐Based Limit Analysis Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 12, 30 June 2026.
ABSTRACT Limit analysis and yield design provide a well‐defined mathematical framework for upscaling the strength properties of heterogeneous materials. These techniques can be incorporated into an FFT‐based computational micromechanics framework to evaluate the strength of heterogeneous materials, based on images of their microstructure.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1513-1534, June 2026.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

RNF213 Is an Interferon‐Stimulated Gene That Targets Influenza A Virus NP and Activates MDA5 to Restrict Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
RNF213 is characterized as a dual‐functional antiviral effector. It directly mediates the degradation of the influenza A virus nucleoprotein (NP) while simultaneously activating the MDA5‐mediated innate immune signaling pathway. This coordinated response establishes a powerful host defense system against viral infection. ABSTRACT Influenza A virus (IAV)

New constructions of a family of 2-generator quasi-cyclic two-weight codes and related codes [Elektronisk resurs]

open access: yes, 2007
Based on cyclic simplex codes, a new construction of a family of two-weight codes is given. These two-weight codes are in a simple 2-generator quasi-cyclic form. Based on this construction, new optimal binary quasi-cyclic [195, 8, 96], [210, 8, 104] and [

A Mechanistic Model of rAAV Production in Synthetic Cell Lines

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 6, Page 1684-1694, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The recombinant adeno‐associated virus (rAAV) is a widely used vector for gene therapy. Its manufacturing faces significant challenges in producing the large quantities of vectors needed for clinical applications and reducing empty particles.

How do I publish the name of a new species of algae? A basic guide. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Phycol
Abstract A basic guide to the requirements of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants for the publication of a valid name of new species (and infraspecific taxa) of living algae is provided. It is intended to aid phycologists so that an accurate inventory of the world's algal diversity is achieved.

Early‐Onset Herpes Zoster in a 10‐Month‐Old Infant Following Nonvenomous Snake Exposure: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Herpes zoster can rarely occur in immunocompetent infants without prior varicella history. This case highlights the importance of considering herpes zoster in atypical dermatomal vesicular eruptions during infancy and suggests that physical stress or local trauma, including nonvenomous snake exposure, may act as a possible trigger for viral ...
