Mesh Simplification

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, 1996
Mesh simplification is an important stage after surface reconstruction since the models produced can contain a large number of polygons making them difficult to manipulate.

La tendencia hacia la simplificación en el discurso especializado y no-especializado: ampliando el alcance de los estudios de traducción basados en corpus al análisis multidiscursivo

open access: yesTrans, 2022
This paper intends to contribute to research on the simplification hypothesis by incorporating a multi-discourse analysis. The study compares non-specialized and academic specialized discourse with the aim of describing their similarities and difference

Semiautomatic simplification [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2001 symposium on Interactive 3D graphics, 2001
We present semisimp, a tool for semiautomatic simplification of three dimensional polygonal models. Existing automatic simplification technology is quite mature, but is not sensitive to the heightened importance of distinct semantic model regions such as faces and limbs, nor to simplification constraints imposed by model usage such as animation ...

On the correctness of using two-dimensional representations in the analysis of cylindrical peg–hole insertion and withdrawal

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2023
The cylindrical peg–hole system is a popular model in the study of assembly and disassembly operations. The analysis of peg–hole systems is customarily performed using simplified two-dimensional representations, viz. a vertical sectional view.

Simplification and saving [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Behavior & Organization, 2013
The daunting complexity of important financial decisions can lead to procrastination. We evaluate a low-cost intervention that substantially simplifies the retirement savings plan participation decision. Individuals received an opportunity to enroll in a retirement savings plan at a pre-selected contribution rate and asset allocation, allowing them to ...

One‐year safety and efficacy results of insulin treatment simplification with IDegLira in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, 2023
Introduction This study aimed to investigate the sustained safety and efficacy of insulin treatment simplification with IDegLira in patients with type 2 diabetes and an HbA1c ≤ 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) during a 12‐month follow‐up.

A Novel Preprocessing Method for Dynamic Point-Cloud Compression

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Computer-based data processing capabilities have evolved to handle a lot of information. As such, the complexity of three-dimensional (3D) models (e.g., animations or real-time voxels) containing large volumes of information has increased exponentially ...

SimS: A Simplification of SiGamal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
At Asiacrypt 2020, Moriya et al. introduced two new IND-CPA secure supersingular isogeny based Public Key Encryption (PKE) protocols: SiGamal and C-SiGamal. Unlike the PKEs canonically derived from SIDH and CSIDH, the new protocols provide IND-CPA security without the use of hash functions. SiGamal and C-SiGamal are however not IND-CCA secure.

Batch Simplification Algorithm for Trajectories over Road Networks

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2023
The steady increase in data generation by GPS systems poses storage challenges. Previous studies show the need to address trajectory compression. The demand for accuracy and the magnitude of data require effective compression strategies to reduce storage.
