One‐year safety and efficacy results of insulin treatment simplification with IDegLira in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, 2023
Introduction This study aimed to investigate the sustained safety and efficacy of insulin treatment simplification with IDegLira in patients with type 2 diabetes and an HbA1c ≤ 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) during a 12‐month follow‐up.

A Novel Preprocessing Method for Dynamic Point-Cloud Compression

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Computer-based data processing capabilities have evolved to handle a lot of information. As such, the complexity of three-dimensional (3D) models (e.g., animations or real-time voxels) containing large volumes of information has increased exponentially ...

A Prototype for linear features generalization [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Interactive Multimedia and Artificial Intelligence, 2010
A computer application designed to generalize linear elements in a vector formatted cartographic set by means of two of the most contrasted line generalization algorithms, Douglas-Peucker simplification and Bézier curves based smoothing, is presented in ...

The Sisyphus paradox of cutting red tape and managing public risk<br> The Dutch case

open access: yesUtrecht Law Review, 2008
Cutting red tape has been topical in Dutch debates on legislative politics ever since the beginning of the 1990s, but has gained impetus – since 2003 – in the political arena as the combined consequence of the regulatory reform policies of the Balkenende

Local simplification

open access: yesInformation and Computation, 1998
We present a modification to the paramodulation inference system, where semantic equality and non-equality literals are stored as local simplifiers with each clause. The local simplifiers are created when new clauses are generated and inherited by the descendants of that clause.

Subdivision surface simplification [PDF]

open access: yes10th Pacific Conference on Computer Graphics and Applications, 2002. Proceedings., 2003
A modified quadric error metric (QEM) for simplification of Loop subdivision surfaces is presented The suggested error metric not only measures the geometric difference but also controls the smoothness and well-shapedness of the triangles that result from the decimation process.

Batch Simplification Algorithm for Trajectories over Road Networks

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2023
The steady increase in data generation by GPS systems poses storage challenges. Previous studies show the need to address trajectory compression. The demand for accuracy and the magnitude of data require effective compression strategies to reduce storage.

A Simplification of Combinatorial Link Floer Homology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We define a new combinatorial complex computing the hat version of link Floer homology over Z/2Z, which turns out to be significantly smaller than the Manolescu-Ozsvath-Sarkar one.Comment: 20 pages with figures, final version printed in JKTR, v.3 of ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

PLAIN-LANGUAGE APPROACH IN LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING: A PERSPECTIVE FROM POLAND

open access: yesComparative Legilinguistics, 2019
The purpose of this research is to explore plain-language postulates reflecting on legal drafting assumptions since legal acts should be precise, clear and express with no doubts the intention of the legislator.
