Computer simulation of control strategies for optimal anaerobic digestion
Three previously published control strategies for anaerobic digestion were implemented in Simulink/Matlab using Anaerobic Digestion Model No. 1 (ADM1) to model the biological process. The controllers’ performance were then simulated and evaluated based on their responses from five different types of process scenarios i.e.

Sterol engineering enables precise control of mRNA lipid nanoparticles by tuning membrane organization. Replacing cholesterol with bile acid‐derived sterols redirects protein expression from the liver to the spleen. Notably, CA‐20 LNP enhances antigen‐specific immune responses while exhibiting a favorable safety profile, highlighting sterols as a ...

Simulation of digestion in cattle fed sugarcane: model development
SUMMARYA dynamic model of digestion and absorption of nutrients in cattle fed sugarcane-based diets is described. There are 11 rumen state variables, and four zero pools representing absorbed nutrients. The rumen state variables represent nitrogen, carbohydrate, long chain fatty acid, microbial and volatile fatty acid pools.

Black Hole Quencher‐Enhanced Plasmonic Photothermal Conversion
Researchers have developed a universal method to boost plasmonic photothermal conversion by attaching black hole quencher (BHQ) molecules to matched metal nanostructures. This hybrid approach increases efficiency by roughly threefold, reaching up to 69.1% in the near‐infrared‐II window.

[Training simulators in digestive endoscopy].
Advanced techniques, optimal patient care, and quality management are currently important topics in clinical medicine. The increasing numbers of minimally invasive procedures being carried out in gastroenterology and surgery, and the effects of the learning curve on complication rates with various procedures, have given rise a recently debate on ...

Comparison of static, in-vessel composting of MSW with thermophilic anaerobic digestion and combinations of the two processes [PDF]
The biological stabilisation of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) into a form stable enough for land application can be achieved via aerobic or anaerobic treatments. To investigate the rates of degradation (e.g.

A rigid‑flexible integrated CO depot is engineered by embedding rigid COFQDs into a flexible ECM gel network. The rigid framework enables high‑capacity CO storage and sonodynamic bacterial killing, while the flexible ECM gel controls sustained CO release, collectively eradicating multidrug‑resistant infection and promoting scarless healing.

Cancer‐Associated BCL‐2 Mutants Reveal Mechanisms Towards Venetoclax Resistance
Venetoclax (VEN) resistance in chronic lymphocytic leukemia arises from diverse BCL2 mutations. We map mechanisms contributing to VEN resistance across common BCL‐2 variants. G101V and D103Y reduce drug binding and increase sequestration of pro‐apoptotic proteins. V156D blocks VEN allosterically.

Model illustrating the proposed mechanism by which chemotherapy‐induced downregulation of OGT disrupts SNAP29 O‐GlcNAcylation, promoting STX17‐SNAP29‐VAMP8 SNARE complex assembly and protective autophagy, leading to chemoresistance, which in turn establishes a feedforward loop to perpetuate drug tolerance.
