A System to Collect and Analyze Data for Problem-solving Challenges Using Computer Games (Example of GT-R: Simulator)

open access: yesСовременные информационные технологии и IT-образование, 2019
The value of data and the importance of interpreting these data is one of the tenets of the digital economy. A variety of data collection sources provides a holistic view of the object and its behavior, but it also creates barriers in creating models ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

One Simulated Hand, Two Real Hands: Antisimulation and Phenomenological Correspondence in Videogame Control Schemes

open access: yesPress Start, 2015
This paper sets out a framework for understanding the control schemes of computer games in terms of ‘phenomenological correspondence’. The complexity of the simulated action corresponds with the complexity of the player’s action on the controls.

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Auscultation Simulator & Smartscope

open access: yes, 2011
The Life/form Auscultation trainer simulator duplicates heart and lung conditions selected by the instructor by wireless remote control. The student should palpate to identify the correct auscultation sites and will hear different heart and sounds as the

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Verification of a dynamic knee simulator computational model

open access: yes, 2008
Dynamic knee simulators aim to reproduce prescribed physiological loading and motions of the knee. The natural knee achieves stability through a complex interaction of the neuro-musculoskeletal system; thus, a knee simulator also requires a sophisticated
