Simulator sickness in U.S. Navy flight simulators.
Aviation, space, and environmental medicine, 1989Flight simulators have become a major factor in pilot training. A general finding from Navy research on simulator design is that equipment features that offer faithful representation improve pilot performance and promote pilot acceptance. To the extent that an aircraft produces motion sickness, its simulator should induce the same result.

Simulation studies of African horse sickness in Spain
1998Factors affecting epidemics of African horse sickness in Spain were studied using a mathematical model. The model examined the likelihood of an epidemic after the introduction of the virus, and the effectiveness of vaccination strategies. Two host species (horses and donkeys) and one vector species (the biting midge Culicoides imicola) were included. A

Simulator Sickness in Mobile Spatial Sound Spaces
2010In this paper we summarize, evaluate, and discuss the effect of movement patterns in a spatial sound space on the perceived amount of simulator sickness, the pleasantness of the experience, and the perceived workload. During our user study nearly 48 percent of all participants showed mild to moderate symptoms of simulator sickness, with a trend towards

Use of a motion sickness history questionnaire for prediction of simulator sickness.
Aviation, space, and environmental medicine, 1992This research assessed the usefulness of the Motion History Questionnaire (MHQ) for the prediction of simulator sickness, a form of motion sickness experienced by pilots training in ground-based flight simulators. Four MHQ scoring keys were compared: (1) the original MHQ key which had been validated on a sample of U.S.
