Interpreting the extended emission around three nearby debris disc host stars
Cool debris discs are a relic of the planetesimal formation process around their host star, analogous to the solar system's Edgeworth-Kuiper belt. As such, they can be used as a proxy to probe the origin and formation of planetary systems like our own ...

Simultaneous multiple-emitter fitting for single molecule super-resolution imaging
Single molecule localization based super-resolution imaging techniques require repeated localization of many single emitters. We describe a method that uses the maximum likelihood estimator to localize multiple emitters simultaneously within a single, two-dimensional fitting sub-region, yielding an order of magnitude improvement in the tolerance of the

A Revisited Half-Quadratic Approach for Simultaneous Robust Fitting of Multiple Curves [PDF]
In this paper, we address the problem of robustly recovering several instances of a curve model from a single noisy data set with outliers. Using M-estimators revisited in a Lagrangian formalism, we derive an algorithm that we call Simultaneous Multiple Robust Fitting (SMRF), which extends the classical Iterative Reweighted Least Squares algorithm ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

New limits on "odderon" amplitudes from analyticity constraints
In studies of high energy $pp$ and $\bar pp$ scattering, the odd (under crossing) forward scattering amplitude accounts for the difference between the $pp$ and $\bar pp$ cross sections. Typically, it is taken as $f_-=-\frac{p}{4\pi}Ds^{\alpha-1}e^{i\pi(1-

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

A framework for simultaneous fit of QCD and BSM parameters with xFitter
AbstractAn extension of the xFitter open-source program for QCD analyses is presented, allowing for a polynomial parameterization of the dependence of physical observables on theoretical parameters. This extension enables simultaneous determination of parton distribution functions (PDFs) and new physics parameters within the framework of the Standard ...
