A Bayesian approach to spectroscopic depth sectioning for locating dopant atoms

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Locating dopants in 3D is of great interest as advanced materials and devices increasingly rely on control at atomic dimensions, and microscopy tools are constantly in development for this purpose. One potential tool is electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) depth sectioning, where a core‐loss signal is collected as a function of electron ...

Robust CDF‐Filtering of a Location Parameter

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper introduces a novel framework for designing robust filters associated with signal plus noise models having symmetric observation density. The filters are obtained by a recursion where the innovation term is a transform of the cumulative distribution function of the residuals.

Perceptual Priors Update Contextual Feedback Processing in V1

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Contextual information and prior knowledge facilitate perceptual processing, improving our recognition of even distorted or obstructed visual inputs. As a result, neuronal processing elicited by identical sensory inputs varies depending on the context in which we encounter those inputs.

Enhancing Solar Cell Performance: Atan-Sinc Optimization Algorithm for Precise Parameter Extraction in the Three-Diode Model

open access: yesApplied System Innovation
This study focuses on estimating the nine parameters of the three-diode model (3DM) for photovoltaic (PV) cells by integrating the Atan-Sinc Optimization Algorithm (ASOA) with the Newton–Raphson (NR) method.

Distinctive neurophysiological correlates of sound onset and offset perception in humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Electroencephalography (EEG) recordings were obtained from participants listening to successive pairs of 1‐2 s noises in a silent background (Study 1) or successive pairs 1‐2 s silent gaps in a noise background (Study 2). Participants heard the same stimuli in the context of either a duration discrimination task (identifying ...

Discretization of nonlinear models by Sinc collocation-interpolation methods

open access: yes, 1996
This paper deals with the solution of initial-boundary value problems for nonlinear evolution equations in one and two space dimensions. The solution technique is based on collocation-interpolation methods which use Sinc functions.

FUNCTIONAL TRANSPOSITION OF ‘SINCE’ IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Craiova. Series Philology. Linguistics
The paper is aimed at tracing the evolution of the preposition, adverb, and conjunction SINCE as the initial and transposed categories. The research proves that the adverb SINCE was formed due to grammaticalization of the construction SIÐ ÐAN/SIÞ ÞAN in 850-950 and has undergone functional transposition into the conjunction and the preposition.

Consistent Quadratic Phase Formation in 3D Fast Spin Echo Using Frequency‐Modulated RF Pulses

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 666-681, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Frequency‐modulated (FM) RF pulses achieve broadband excitation with low RF peak power, which is required in MRI with inhomogeneous magnetic fields. However, the quadratic phase generated with FM pulses makes it difficult to use them in fast spin echo (FSE), because even and odd refocused echoes have different spatial phase profiles ...

E-Sinc methods have almost the same convergence property as SE-Sinc methods even for a family of functions fitting the SE-Sinc methods Part II: Indefinite integration

open access: yes
In this paper, the theoretical convergence rate of the Sinc indefinite integration combined with the double-exponential (DE) transformation is given for a class of functions for which the single-exponential (SE) transformation is suitable.
