Sinc-function based Network

open access: yes, 1998
The purpose of this paper is to describe a neural network (SNN), that is based on Shannons ideas of reconstruction of a real continuous function from its samples. The basic function, used in this network, is the Sinc-function. Two learning algorithms are described.

Quantitative Diffusion and T2 Mapping Using RF‐Modulated Phase‐Based Gradient Echo Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 49-65, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To introduce and evaluate the feasibility of a novel RF‐phase modulated gradient echo (GRE) method for quantitative diffusion MRI, aimed at mitigating geometric distortion and enabling high‐resolution 3D quantitative diffusion/T2 mapping as a complementary alternative to conventional DWI.

Engineered red blood cell extracellular vesicles for delivery of Dox and siIDO1 enhance targeted chemo-immunotherapy of acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer
Background As a malignancy of hematopoietic origin, the standard-of-care cytoreductive chemotherapy can not provide satisfactory treatment effect for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

A sinc that sank

open access: yes
We resolve and further study a sinc integral evaluation, first posed in this Monthly in [1967, p. 1015], which was solved in [1968, p. 914] and withdrawn in [1970, p. 657].

Chemical Shift Separated and Compensated Ultra‐Short Echo‐Time Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 121-133, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop a modified binomial excitation scheme for ultra‐short echo‐time (UTE) imaging that allows for the separation of water and fat signals and the correction of chemical shift artifacts. Methods Theoretical derivation and numerical Bloch simulations were performed for a modified water‐excitation binomial pulse scheme to calculate

Optimized Detection of Left Ventricular Hyperpolarized [1‐13C]Pyruvate Signal in Human Cardiac Metabolic Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 420-434, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to improve the analysis of the left ventricular (LV) blood pool hyperpolarized [1‐13C]pyruvate signal for a more reliable quantification of downstream metabolic outcome. Methods Hyperpolarized [1‐13C]pyruvate magnetic resonance spectroscopic images were acquired dynamically at 3 Tesla in 106 participants (NCT03685175).

Optimizing Selective RF Pulses for Enhanced Signal Stability in Turbo Spin Echo Using a Differentiable Extended Phase Graph Model

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 214-226, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To improve slice profile consistency across echo trains in turbo spin echo (TSE) imaging, thereby reducing image blurring and increasing the accuracy of multi echo spin echo T2$$ {T}_2 $$ mapping. Methods Excitation and refocusing RF pulses were optimized for TSE using a differentiable extended phase graph model that incorporates the ...

Spectral decay of the sinc kernel operator and approximations by Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions.

open access: yes, 2014
For fixed $c,$ the Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions (PSWFs) $\psi_{n, c}$ form a basis with remarkable properties for the space of band-limited functions with bandwidth $c$. They have been largely studied and used after the seminal work of D. Slepian, H.

Free‐Breathing Magnetization Transfer Imaging of the Lung at 0.55 T Using bSTAR

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 203-213, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop a clinically applicable method for magnetization transfer (MT) imaging of the lung at 0.55 T. Methods MT imaging of the chest was explored in healthy volunteers at 0.55 T using a self‐gated 3D half‐radial dual‐echo balanced steady‐state free precession sequence (bSTAR), a 2D multi‐slice gradient echo method (GRE) acquired in

Quantitative Model of Internal Analyzer Scattering in a Hemispherical Electron Analyzer and Its Application to Improve the Accuracy of the Transmission Function

open access: yesSurface and Interface Analysis, Volume 58, Issue 7, Page 456-470, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Internal scattering within hemispherical electron analyzers (HEA) is common when operating at low pass energies, where the instrument resolution of X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spectroscopy experiments are at their best.
