Weingarten surfaces and sine-Gordon equation

Science in China Series A: Mathematics, 1997
The article concerns Weingarten surfaces defined by the equation \[ K-2mH+ m^2-l^2=0 \] with the constants \(m,l\) satisfying \(m^2+l^2>0\). The fundamental forms can be adapted as \[ \begin{aligned} I&= \biggl(\cos^2 \frac\varphi 2 du^2+\sin^2 \frac\varphi 2 dv^2\biggr)/ (m^2+l^2),\\ II&= \biggl(\sin \frac {\varphi-\varphi_0}{2} \cos \frac \varphi 2 ...

The Nonlinear Sine-Gordon Equation

1985
In superconductors, at zero temperature, all electrons near the Fermi surface are united in pairs in a singlet-spin state with vanishing total momentum. As a result, their motion is correlated over distances of the order of the region of pairing (∿10−4 cm). This distance is called the coherence length.

Analytical solution to sine-Gordon equation

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 2010
We present an analytical solution for the sine-Gordon equation using the arctan-transformation and without restriction to any set of parameters.

Generalized solution of Sine-Gordon equation

2015
In this paper, we are interested to study the Sine-Gordon equation in generalized function theory, we give a result of existence and uniqueness of generalized solution with initial data are distributions (elements of the Colombeau algebra). Then we study the association concept with the classical solution.

Critical properties of the quantum sine-Gordon equation

Physical Review B, 1991
We have developed a quantum-mechanical approach to study the critical properties of the quantum sine-Gordon equation describing a massless scalar field in 1 + 1 space-time dimensions with interaction density proportional to cos(beta-0-phi). The main feature of the present theory is to find an appropriate starting point for perturbation expansion, which

Breathers for the Sine-Gordon equation

1989
The problem of breathers, solutions of a nonlinear homogeneous wave equation that are nontrivial, time-dependent and T-periodic is considered. A manifold of such solutions is shown to exist in a distributional sense and some qualitative properties of these solutions are described.
