Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Overview of Single-Molecule Speckle (SiMS) Microscopy and Its Electroporation-Based Version with Efficient Labeling and Improved Spatiotemporal Resolution

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Live-cell single-molecule imaging was introduced more than a decade ago, and has provided critical information on remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton, the motion of plasma membrane proteins, and dynamics of molecular motor proteins. Actin remodeling has

Single-cell photoacoustic thermometry [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2013
A novel photoacoustic thermometric method is presented for simultaneously imaging cells and sensing their temperature. With three-seconds-per-frame imaging speed, a temperature resolution of 0.2°C was achieved in a photo-thermal cell heating experiment.

Robust Spontaneous Raman Flow Cytometry for Single‐Cell Metabolic Phenome Profiling via pDEP‐DLD‐RFC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
A full‐spectrum spontaneous single‐cell Raman spectrum (fs‐SCRS) captures the metabolic phenome for a given cellular state of the cell in a label‐free, landscape‐like manner.

Tracing blastomere fate choices of early embryos in single cell culture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Blastomeres of early vertebrate embryos undergo numerous fate choices for division, motility, pluripotency maintenance and restriction culminating in various cell lineages.

Emergent collective chemotaxis without single-cell gradient sensing

open access: yes, 2015
Many eukaryotic cells chemotax, sensing and following chemical gradients. However, experiments have shown that even under conditions when single cells cannot chemotax, small clusters may still follow a gradient.

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Protein Expression Analyses at the Single Cell Level

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
The central dogma of molecular biology explains how genetic information is converted into its end product, proteins, which are responsible for the phenotypic state of the cell. Along with the protein type, the phenotypic state depends on the protein copy

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Large field of view and spatial region of interest transcriptomics in fixed tissue

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Expression profiling in spatially defined regions is crucial for systematically understanding tissue complexity. Here, we report a method of photo-irradiation for in-situ barcoding hybridization and ligation sequencing, named PBHL-seq, which allows ...
