Widely Wavelength-Tunable High Power Single-Longitudinal-Mode Fiber Laser in Mid-Infrared Waveband

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
We demonstrate a mid-infrared (MIR) wavelength-tunable high-power single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) fiber laser using a compound cavity structure. The compound cavity consists of an Er-doped ZBLAN fiber perpendicularly cleaved at two-ends and an external ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Wavelength-Spacing Switchable Dual-Wavelength Single Longitudinal Mode Thulium-Doped Fiber Laser at 1.9 μm

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
We propose and demonstrate a spacing switchable dual-wavelength single longitudinal mode thulium-doped fiber laser at 1.9 μm. The fiber laser employs a ring cavity and a segment of 4-m thulium-doped fiber pumped by a 1563 nm laser. A

Wavelength-Tunable Single-Longitudinal-Mode Narrow-Linewidth Thulium/Holmium Co-Doped Fiber Laser with Phase-Shifted Fiber Bragg Grating and Dual-Coupler-Ring Filter

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
A wavelength-tunable single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) narrow-linewidth thulium/holmium co-doped fiber laser (THDFL) was developed in this study. The lasing wavelength was determined by combining a phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating (PS-FBG) and a uniform ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Purely Gain-Coupled Distributed Feedback Bragg Semiconductor Laser Emitting At 795 Nm With a Wide Tunable Range

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
We demonstrate a distributed feedback (DFB) semiconductor laser based on i-line lithography and surface periodic current injection technologies with a lasing wavelength of 795 nm, which corresponds to the D1 spectrum of Rb and has many applications with ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

High power cladding-pumped Raman fiber laser with true single-mode output at 1660 nm

open access: yes, 2006
We report a 10 W continuous-wave cladding-pump Raman fiber laser with single-mode output at 1660 nm pumped by a high-power Er:Yb fiber amplifier. The laser threshold was 6.5 W and its slope efficiency was 67%
