Single-Person Households and Crime

본 연구는 주요한 인구구조 변화인 1인 가구의 급속한 증가와 1인 가구의 특성이 범죄에 취약한 환경을 조성할 수 있는 점에 근거하여 1인 가구의 증가가 범죄에 영향을 미치는지 확인하였다. 이를 위해 우리나라 행정구역 시 · 군 · 구에 대한 2000년, 2005년, 2010년, 2015-2017년의 총 6개 연도 지역패널자료를 구축하여 특정 지역에서 1인 가구가 증가할 때 해당 지역의 살인 · 강도 · 성범죄 · 절도 · 폭력 범죄를 포함하는 주요 범죄인 5대 범죄가 얼마나 증가하는지 확인하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다.

Discourse of Single-Person Households and Human Rights

본 연구는 1인 가구가 우리 사회에 어떻게 받아들여지고 있는가 하는 질문에서 출발한다. 그리고 이를 알아보기 위하여 언론에서 진행되고 있는 1인 가구 담론을 분석하였다. 1인 가구가 20%를 넘은 2009년부터 2017년 3월까지 조선일보와 한겨레에서 보도된 1인 가구 관련 기사와 사설을 담론 분석하였다. 총 536개 기사와 사설이 본 연구에 사용되었고, 주요 담론들을 인권 요소들(자유권, 사회권)에 따라 언론에서 다뤄진 1인 가구를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 1인 가구는 중년 1인 가구를 포함하지 않고, 노인과 청년 1인 가구로만 내용이 구성되고 있었다.
