The effect of a single HOM-damper cell within a channel of undamped cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The effect of a single HOM-damper cell within a channel of undamped cells is described theoretically using an equivalent circuit model. From this a simple equation can be derived which relates the Q-value of the single damping-cell, the bandwidth of the ...

Flow and heat transfer in a closed loop thermosyphon. Part I – theoretical simulation

open access: yesJournal of Energy in Southern Africa, 2017
A natural circulation, closed loop thermosyphon can transfer heat over relatively large distances without any moving parts such as pumps and active controls.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Acquisition and correlation of cryogenic nitrogen mass flow data through a multiple orifice Joule-Thomson device [PDF]

open access: yes
Liquid nitrogen mass flow rate, pressure drop, and temperature drop data were obtained for a series of multiple orifice Joule-Thomson devices, known as Visco Jets, over a wide range of flow resistance.

An Experimental Study on Coal Fines Migration during Single Phase Water Flow

open access: yesGeofluids, 2020
Coal fines migration and intrusion in coal fractures affect coalbed methane (CBM) wells performance by reducing reservoir permeability and production continuity. Physical simulations are conducted to investigate the permeability variation under different

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Assessment of MARS-KS prediction capability for natural circulation flow in passive heat removal system

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
Considering that system analysis codes are used for the evaluation of the performance of Passive Safety Systems (PSSs), it is important to investigate the capability of the system analysis code to reliably predict the heat transfer and natural ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

On large angle multiple gluon radiation

open access: yes, 2003
Jet shape observables which involve measurements restricted to a part of phase space are sensitive to multiplication of soft gluon with large relative angles and give rise to specific single logarithmically enhanced (SL) terms (non-global logs).
