Electronics for single photon avalanche diode arrays

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2007
This is the second of two serial papers dealing with single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) topics. Aim of the series is to discuss in depth the features and device structures of the array chip we developed (in the first paper) and the required fast electronics and the overall performance reached in passive, active, and gated regime (in this second paper)

SPADA: single-photon avalanche diode arrays

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2005
We present a silicon monolithic array of 60 photon counters (single-photon avalanche diode array) for two-dimensional imaging, with detection efficiency higher than 30% in the visible range. The fabricated solid-state array is rugged and easy to be integrated in the optical system.

Principles and features of single-photon avalanche diode arrays

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2007
This is the first of two serial papers dealing on single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) topics. Aim of the series is to discuss in depth the design and fabrication of our SPAD-A array system for two-dimensional single-photon imaging, able to count and time-tag single photons by means of a monolithic array sensor.
