High performance planar germanium-on-silicon single-photon avalanche diode detectors
By incorporating germanium, single-photon avalanche diode detectors using silicon-based platforms are applied to infrared light detection. Here, a cost-effective planar detector geometry is presented yielding high detection efficiency suitable for ...

Dirac‐Source Linear X‐Ray Detection Diode
Monolayer graphene imparts near linear current‐voltage behavior to a perovskite X‐ray detection diode, contrasting with conventional diode‐like responses. Exploiting graphene's Dirac dispersion and a Schottky‐like back‐to‐back junction, the device achieves six‐orders‐of‐magnitude dark current suppression while retaining linearity over 200 V, enabling ...

A sequential dual‐alignment strategy independently programs the orientation of conductive metal‐organic framework (c‐MOF) microrods and liquid crystals within a composite film. This approach creates an asymmetric bilayer structure that enables precise, multi‐responsive actuation.

Adaptive Depth Imaging With Single-Photon Detectors
For active optical imaging, the use of single-photon detectors can greatly improve the detection sensitivity of the system. However, the traditional maximum-likelihood based imaging method needs a long acquisition time to capture clear three-dimensional (3D) image in low light-level.

Pressure‐Assisted Dimensional Transformation of 2D Hydrogenated Borophene into 0D Boron Quantum Dots
Hydrogenated borophene (HB) is transformed into distinct boron nanostructures through a solvent‐free thermal process. Under flowing nitrogen, hydrogen escape promotes reconstruction into B2O3 nanoplatelets, whereas hydrogen‐induced pressure under sealed conditions facilitates fragmentation into boron quantum dots.

Characterizing a single photon detector
I will present my work about constructing and characterizing a single photon detector. Using the 1550nm laser and second harmonic light generation, I am able to count single photons on a Multi‐Pixel Photon Counter (MPPC) silicon APD. My results show that upwards of 22% quantum efficiency is achievable with the MPPC. Future work will
