Detecting Air Pollutant Molecules Using Tube-Shaped Single Electron Transistor [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
An air pollution detector is proposed based on a tube-shaped single-electron transistor (SET) sensor. By monitoring the flow control component of the detector, each air pollutant molecule can be placed at the center of a SET nanopore and is treated as an

Electromechanical Characteristics by a Vertical Flip of C70 Fullerene Prolate Spheroid in a Single-Electron Transistor: Hybrid Density Functional Methods [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
In this study, the B3LYP hybrid density functional theory was used to investigate the electromechanical characteristics of C70 fullerene with and without point charges to model the effect of the surface of the gate electrode in a C70 single-electron ...

Molecular floating-gate single-electron transistor [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
We investigated reversible switching behaviors of a molecular floating-gate single-electron transistor (MFG-SET). The device consists of a gold nanoparticle-based SET and a few tetra-tert-butyl copper phthalocyanine (ttbCuPc) molecules; each nanoparticle

Ferritin Single-Electron Transistor. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Phys Chem B
We report on the fabrication of a single-electron transistor based on ferritin using wide self-aligned nanogap devices. A local gate below the gap area enables three-terminal electrical measurements, showing the Coulomb blockade in good agreement with the single-electron tunneling theory.

Multiple periodicity in a nanoparticle-based single-electron transistor [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Single-electron transistors are elements for nanoscale electronics. Employing single-electron transistors based on gold nanoparticles, Bitton et al., report a fabrication technique that allows precise control over the coupling between a nanodot and leads,

A Novel Fabrication of Single Electron Transistor from Patterned Gold Nanoparticle Array Template-Prepared by Polystyrene Nanospheres [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
In this paper, polystyrene microspheres were firstly prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization, and the uniform monolayer of polystyrene microspheres was prepared on the substrate by the dipping method.

Single-Electron Transistors [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics World, 2020
The invention of the transistor by John Bardeen and William Shockley in 1948 triggered a new era in electronics. Originally designed simply to emulate the vacuum tube, scientists soon found that this solid-state device could offer much more. The great potential of the transistor for speed, miniaturization and reliability has been fully exploited since ...

Inductive Single-Electron Transistor [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2004
We demonstrate a sensitive method of charge detection based on radio-frequency readout of the Josephson inductance of a superconducting single-electron transistor. Charge sensitivity 1.4 x 10(-4) e/square root Hz, limited by a preamplifier, is achieved in an operation mode which takes advantage of the nonlinearity of the Josephson potential.
