Intensity fluctuations in longitudinal modes of a nearly single-mode AlGaAs laser
The behaviour of the relative intensity noise in each longitudinal mode of a CW DH AlGaAs laser exhibiting mode jumps is observed and theoretically explained. The stabilisation of the amplitude fluctuations of the main mode due to the gain saturation which could be expected when the injection current increases is cancelled by the shift of the maximum ...

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

In this paper, a dual-wavelength narrow-linewidth fiber laser based on parity-time (PT) symmetry theory is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The PT-symmetric filter system consists of two optical couplers (OCs), four polarization controllers (PCs)

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Hybrid dual-wavelength pumped gain-switched single-frequency pulsed Tm3+-doped fiber laser at 2.1 μm
An efficient gain-switched single-frequency Tm ^3+ -doped fiber laser at 2097.48 nm using a short DBR cavity under hybrid pumping (1570 nm pulsed and 793 nm continuous wave) is experimentally demonstrated.

Longitudinal dynamics with rf phase modulation in the Brazilian electron storage ring
In the Brazilian synchrotron light source (LNLS—Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron), we observed that modulating the phase of the accelerating fields at approximately twice the synchrotron frequency suppressed remarkably well a longitudinal coupled ...

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.
