How to control single-molecule rotation [PDF]
The orientation of a molecule on a surface affects many processes, so the ability to control single-molecule rotation could be powerful. Here, the authors use the electric field from a scanning tunneling microscope tip to precisely induce unidirectional ...

Robust Single Rotation Averaging
We propose a novel method for single rotation averaging using the Weiszfeld algorithm. Our contribution is threefold: First, we propose a robust initialization based on the elementwise median of the input rotation matrices. Our initial solution is more accurate and robust than the commonly used chordal $L_2$-mean.

Spontaneous Intersubunit Rotation in Single Ribosomes [PDF]
During the elongation cycle, tRNA and mRNA undergo coupled translocation through the ribosome catalyzed by elongation factor G (EF-G). Cryo-EM reconstructions of certain EF-G-containing complexes led to the proposal that the mechanism of translocation involves rotational movement between the two ribosomal subunits.
