A Robust Incremental-Quaternion-Based Angle and Axis Estimation Algorithm of a Single-Axis Rotation Using MARG Sensors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A robust incremental-quaternion-based algorithm is proposed in this paper to estimate the angle and the axis of a single-axis rotation whose rotation axis is invisible or inaccessible.

Rapid Rotation in the Kepler Field: Not a Single Star Phenomenon [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysical Journal, 2018
Tens of thousands of rotation periods have been measured in the Kepler fields, including a substantial fraction of rapid rotators. We use Gaia parallaxes to distinguish photometric binaries (PBs; from single stars on the unevolved lower main sequence ...

Mapping Crop Rotation by Using Deeply Synergistic Optical and SAR Time Series

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Crop rotations, the farming practice of growing crops in sequential seasons, occupy a core position in agriculture management, showing a key influence on food security and agro-ecosystem sustainability.

Single Parameter Model for Galaxy Rotation Curves

open access: yesGalaxies
One key piece of evidence for dark matter is the rotation-curve problem: the disagreement between measured galactic rotation curves and their luminous mass.

R3Det: Refined Single-Stage Detector with Feature Refinement for Rotating Object [PDF]

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2019
Rotation detection is a challenging task due to the difficulties of locating the multi-angle objects and separating them effectively from the background. Though considerable progress has been made, for practical settings, there still exist challenges for

Angle Estimation of Simultaneous Orthogonal Rotations from 3D Gyroscope Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2011
A 3D gyroscope provides measurements of angular velocities around its three intrinsic orthogonal axes, enabling angular orientation estimation. Because the measured angular velocities represent simultaneous rotations, it is not appropriate to consider ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
