Adolescent differences in knee stability following computer-assisted anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

open access: yesOrthopedic Reviews, 2014
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery is being increasingly performed in the adolescent population. Computer navigation offers a reliable way to quantitatively measure knee stability during ACL reconstruction.

Anti-solar differential rotation on the active sub-giant HU Virginis

open access: yes, 2016
Measuring surface differential rotation (DR) on different types of stars is important when characterizing the underlying stellar dynamo. It has been suggested that anti-solar DR laws can occur when strong meridional flows exist. We aim to investigate the

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Whole‐Body Pattern of Muscle Degeneration and Progression in Sarcoglycanopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize whole‐body intramuscular fat distribution pattern in patients with sarcoglycanopathies and explore correlations with disease severity, duration and age at onset. Methods Retrospective, cross‐sectional, multicentric study enrolling patients with variants in one of the four sarcoglycan genes who underwent whole‐body ...

Three-dimensional comparative strain analysis of the capsuloligamentous complex during passive glenohumeral motion

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research
Background Understanding the three-dimensional biomechanical behavior of the capsuloligamentous complex, considering it as a single sheet of fibrous tissue, is beneficial for assessing patients with limited glenohumeral range of motion in vivo.

Traumatic Microhemorrhages Are Not Synonymous With Axonal Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is caused by acceleration‐deceleration forces during trauma that shear white matter tracts. Susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) identifies microbleeds that are considered the radiologic hallmark of DAI and are used in clinical prognostication.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.
