Origins of singlet fission in solid pentacene from an ab initio Green's-function approach

open access: yes, 2017
We develop a new first-principles approach to predict and understand rates of singlet fission with an ab initio Green's-function formalism based on many-body perturbation theory.

Analysis of the Ξ‾ccΞcc hexaquark molecular state with the QCD sum rules

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
In this work, we construct the color-singlet-color-singlet type six-quark pseudoscalar current to investigate the Ξ‾ccΞcc hexaquark molecular state with the QCD sum rules, the predicted mass MX∼7.2GeV supports assigning the X(7200) to be the Ξ‾ccΞcc ...

Two-Loop QCD Corrections to the Heavy Quark Form Factors: Anomaly Contributions

open access: yes, 2005
We present closed analytic expressions for the order $\alpha_s^2$ triangle diagram contributions to the matrix elements of the singlet and non-singlet axial vector currents between the vacuum and a quark-antiquark state.

Theory of the proximity effect in junctions with unconventional superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a general theory of the proximity effect in junctions between diffusive normal metals (DN) and unconventional superconductors in the framework of the quasiclassical Green's function formalism.

Symmetry Breaking Charge Transfer in DNA-Templated Perylene Dimer Aggregates

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Molecular aggregates are of interest to a broad range of fields including light harvesting, organic optoelectronics, and nanoscale computing. In molecular aggregates, nonradiative decay pathways may emerge that were not present in the constituent ...

Numerical Renormalization Group Approach to a Quantum Dot Coupled to Normal and Superconducting Leads

open access: yes, 2008
We study transport through a quantum dot coupled to normal and superconducting leads using the numerical renormalization group method. We show that the low-energy properties of the system are described by the local Fermi liquid theory despite of the ...

Converting two-atom singlet state into three-atom singlet state via quantum Zeno dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2010
An approach is presented for converting a two-atom singlet state into a three-atom singlet state based on the quantum Zeno dynamics induced by continuous coupling. The scheme can be achieved within one step through appropriately regulating the Rabi frequencies of the classical fields.

Unconventional Solar Energy: Singlet Fission [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Frontiers Journal, 2019
Described simply, singlet fission is a process in which a singlet excited molecule transfers about half of its excitation energy to a neighbor molecule, both end up in their triplet state, and the two triplet excitations diffuse apart.

Entanglement—A Higher Order Symmetry

open access: yesPhysical Sciences Forum, 2023
Can we accurately model the spin state of a quantum particle? If so, we should be able to make identical copies of such a state and also obtain its mirror image.
