The Singular Values of Convolutional Layers
We characterize the singular values of the linear transformation associated with a standard 2D multi-channel convolutional layer, enabling their efficient computation. This characterization also leads to an algorithm for projecting a convolutional layer onto an operator-norm ball.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Properties of singular points in a special case of orthorhombic media
The position of singular lines for orthorhombic (ORT) media with fixed diagonal elements of the elasticity matrix cij, i=1…6 is studied under the condition that c11, c22, c33>c66>c44>c55.

Optimal Shrinkage of Singular Values [PDF]
We consider recovery of low-rank matrices from noisy data by shrinkage of singular values, in which a single, univariate nonlinearity is applied to each of the empirical singular values. We adopt an asymptotic framework, in which the matrix size is much larger than the rank of the signal matrix to be recovered, and the signal-to-noise ratio of the low ...

ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Positive matrices with prescribed singular values [PDF]
We consider the problem of constructing positive matrices with prescribed singular values. In particular, we show how to construct an m × n positive matrix, m = n, with prescribed singular values s1 = s2 = · · · = sn.

Projecting XRP price burst by correlation tensor spectra of transaction networks
Cryptoassets are becoming essential in the digital economy era. XRP is one of the large market cap cryptoassets. Here, we develop a novel method of correlation tensor spectra for the dynamical XRP networks, which can provide an early indication for XRP ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

MAX-PLUS SINGULAR VALUES [PDF]
In this paper we prove a new characterization of the max-plus singular values of a max-plus matrix, as the max-plus eigenvalues of an associated max-plus matrix pencil.
