Key Engineering Materials, 2007In this study, we report on the effect of Bioglass® structural transformations on its sintering behaviour. In a previous paper, we showed that while heating up to 1000°C, five successive transformations occur: glassy transition, phase separation, two crystallization processes and a second glassy transition.

Mechanical Behavior of Non Sintered and Sintered Steel Wool
Advanced Materials Research, 2008Entangled materials are similar to cellular materials, with regard to their low density and discrete architecture. In this work steel wool (sintered in a furnace for various time at two temperatures) and non sintered steel wool are investigated. Experimental mechanical compression tests were performed on both materials.

Ferroelectrics, 1997Abstract The densification behavior and microstructure development were examined on low and high temperature modifications of PbNb2O6. The phase transformation occurred during the sintering of the low temperature form and increased the grain growth rate, resulting in the reduction in densification rate.

The sintering characteristics of UO2-Gd2O3 Mixtures were investigated over the range 0 to 20 wt% Gd2O3. It was observed that as little as 0.5 wt% Gd2O3 will reduce the sinterability of powder mixtures. This effects is Correlated to stoichimetry changes induced by the ionic substitution of Gd+3 for U+4 in the structure.
