Nanocrystalline iron sintering behavior and microstructural development

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 1994
Nanocrystalline (20 nm) iron powder was closed-die sintered in a hydrogen atmosphere at a stress of 10.1 MPa and at temperatures between 670 and 1270 K. The maximum densification rate was approximately 6 × 10−4 s−1. Density greater than 90 pct was obtained at sintering temperatures greater than 990 K. Densification was marked microstructurally by local

Non-uniform sintering behavior during spark plasma sintering of Y2O3

Ceramics International, 2020
Abstract During spark plasma sintering of Y2O3 ceramics, the evolution of non-uniform microstructure was observed, depending on the heating rate. At low heating rates, the appearance of the sintered bodies is relatively uniform, and the grain size is slightly larger in the center than in the periphery.

Sintering Behavior of Beryllium Oxide

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1961
The sintering behavior of beryllia in a reducing atmosphere was studied between 1500° and 2100°C. Above 1700°C. the firing temperature had only a small effect on the density after heating for 24 hours. Examination of the time dependence of sintering showed that at 1700°C.

Sintering behavior of spark plasma sintered alumina with graphene nanoplatelet reinforcement

Ceramics International, 2015
Abstract Graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) reinforced alumina is synthesized by spark plasma sintering (SPS) using process conditions of 1100–1500 °C, 3–10 min dwell time, and 45–90 MPa in order to investigate the effects of GNP on sintering behavior. High volume fractions of GNP (5–15 vol%) are utilized in order to accentuate effects of GNPs.

Sintering behavior and anisotropic sintering parameters of uniaxially constrained LTCC tapes

Ceramics International, 2016
Abstract The constrained sintering behavior of uniaxially loaded commercial LTCC tapes was studied by recording sintering strains through an optical dilatometer. By adjusting the applied uniaxial load, zero uniaxial strain rates can be achieved at several densities.
