Triggering the Sintering of Silver Nanoparticles at Room Temperature

ACS Nano, 2010
A new approach to achieve coalescence and sintering of metallic nanoparticles at room temperature is presented. It was discovered that silver nanoparticles behave as soft particles when they come into contact with oppositely charged polyelectrolytes and undergo a spontaneous coalescence process, even without heating.

A high temperature sintering furnace

Vacuum, 1952
A laboratory furnace is described in which specimens 75 mm long by 15 mm diameter can be heated to 2 400° C either in hydrogen or in a vacuum better than 10-4 mm of mercury. The electrical-resistance heater is a fabricated tungsten tube 150 mm long by 35 mm diameter.

A mechanism for low-temperature sintering

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2006
Abstract We explain the basic mechanism of the low-temperature sintering called reactive liquid-phase sintering. The mechanism involves the presence of a low-temperature liquid phase that must be able to directly or indirectly accelerate a reaction with the matrix phase.

Low temperature sintering of TiO2

Materials Science and Engineering, 1983
Abstract Low temperature sintering was achieved in ultrafine, well-dispersed and uniformly packed TiO2 powder compacts. TiO2 powder was prepared by hydrolysis of titanium isopropoxide, calcination at 550°C and dispersion in an aqueous solution with a controlled pH value.

Low temperature sintering of CCTO using P2O5 as a sintering aid

Ceramics International, 2010
Abstract Recent work on CCTO is directed towards decreasing its dissipation factor and further raising its dielectric constant by using different dopants. Also attempts have been made to lower its sintering temperature by adding different sintering aids so as to save energy and use low-cost electrodes (Ag–Pd or base metal) for making multilayer ...

Effective Sintering Aids for Low-temperature Sintering of AlN Ceramics

Journal of Materials Research, 1999
A disappearing sintering aid was used to promote densification during the initial and middle stages of sintering and to be removed in gaseous form from the specimens during the final stage of sintering. From thermodynamic consideration such as assessment of Gibbs free energy change of formation of Al2O3 compounds including metal-oxide and evaluation of

The Properties of Cu Sinter Paste for Pressure Sintering at Low Temperature

2019 IEEE 69th Electronic Components and Technology Conference (ECTC), 2019
This study introduces a newly developed pressure type Cu sinter paste as a joining material substituting for Ag and our investigation into its joining properties and reliability. The Cu sinter paste we developed as a filler by using low temperature sinterable copper particles was able to be sintered at 280°C from 5 to 20 minutes.

The high-temperature sintering of tungsten

Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1965
A study was made of the effect of high-temperature sintering on the shrinkage, density, porosity, chemical composition, grain size, grain density, electrical conductivity, hardness, and strength of VA tungsten bars with silicon-alkali and aluminum additions and VCh tungsten bars without additions.
