A Mechanistic Study of Methanol Decomposition over Cu/SiO2, ZrO2/SiO2, and Cu/ZrO2/SiO2

Abstract The interaction of methanol with Cu/SiO 2 , ZrO 2 /SiO 2 , and Cu/ZrO 2 /SiO 2 has been investigated by in situ infrared spectroscopy and temperature programmed desorption and reaction with the aim of understanding the nature of the species and the mechanism involved in methanol decomposition.

Charge Trapping in SiO2

Avalanche injection techniques are extensively used to inject electrons and holes from silicon into the thin SiO2 layer of the type used in MOS transistors. This makes it possible to evaluate the electron and hole trapping kinetics in this material using only simple MOS devices.
