Diversity and Pluralism in the Pre-Prohphetic Sirah

open access: yesHazara Islamicus, 2013
More than 1.5 billion Muslims, no doubt, live within some fifty seven Muslim majority countries; nevertheless they are inhabited by other religious minorities. At the same time, Muslims constitute significant minorities throughout the non-Muslim world. India is inhabited by the second largest Muslim population after Indonesia.

Nanoporous Submicron Gold Particles Enable Nanoparticle‐Based Localization Optoacoustic Tomography (nanoLOT)

open access: yesSmall, Volume 20, Issue 51, December 19, 2024.
Porous gold of 600 nm nanoparticles capable of being individually detected in vivo are introduced. Ultra‐high‐speed microscopy reveals the formation and collapse of micron‐size bubbles around the particles as the basic mechanism for strong optoacoustic signal generation with a short‐pulsed laser.

Spectral Hole‐Burning Studies of a Mononuclear Eu(III) Complex Reveal Narrow Optical Linewidths of the 5D0→7F0 Transition and Seconds Long Nuclear Spin Lifetimes

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 25, Issue 19, October 1, 2024.
Optical coherence lifetime (T2opt) of 0.205 μs and nuclear spin lifetimes (T1spin) up to 41 s have been estimated for a mono‐nuclear Eu3+ complex from spectral hole burning (SHB) studies at 4.2 K, indicating the utility of molecular rare‐earth ion (REI) complexes as tunable platforms for creating coherent light‐matter interfaces with quantum ...

Heterogeneously Catalyzed Partial Oxidation of Styrene on a Silver Surface

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 16, Issue 17, September 9, 2024.
The epoxidation of olefins on silver surfaces is an important industrial process on a large scale. This paper presents microscopic insights of styrene oxidation on Ag(111) under well‐controlled ultra‐high vacuum conditions. Epoxidation exclusively takes place at elevated oxygen coverages, coinciding with the emergence of electrophilic oxygen.

Computational Design of α‐Conotoxins to Target Specific Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Subtypes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 30, Issue 7, February 1, 2024.
FoldX was benchmarked as the best energy prediction method, and seven accurate molecular models of α‐conotoxin/nAChRs were developed as surrogates for the experimental complexes. The combined use of FoldX and these molecular models emerged as an effective approach to predict α‐conotoxins with improved pharmaceutical properties.

Climate Change Affects Choice and Management of Training Systems in the Grapevine

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Grape and Wine Research, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Although vertical shoot positioned (VSP) training systems, either cane‐ or spur‐pruned, are adopted in the great majority of the vineyards worldwide, the lianas nature of the grapevine and the presence of long and flexible canes confer high plasticity and render structural and pruning changes quite easy.

Application of a novel high resolution widefield surface plasmon microscope in cell engineering, wound healing and development of new binding assays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Surface Plasmon (SP) microscope systems are mostly built around the prism based Krctschmann configuration. In thcsc systcms the generation of Surface Plasmons (SPs) is achieved by p-polarized light striking a metallised prism surfacc at a spccific ...
