Air-Jet Texturing of Sirospun Yarn

Textile Research Journal, 1992
Sirospun yarns have been texturized using an air-jet process to improve the bulk of the parent yarn. The study examines the effects of twist in the parent yarn, as well as overfeed and air pressure during texturing on the properties of the textured yarn. When suitable process parameters are chosen, Sirospun yarns lend themselves to excellent texturing

Structure and Properties of Cotton Sirospun® Yarn

Textile Research Journal, 2000
Cotton Sirospun® yarn has a circular cross-sectional shape, with the two strands segregated and consolidated into an adjacent array. When it is untwisted, the strand twists in an alternate direction. When compared to single yam with the same linear density and twist multiplier, cotton Sirospun yam is superior in tenacity, evenness, hairiness, and ...

Online Detection of Strand Breakage for Sirospun Yarn

Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 2017
Abstract During the Siro-spin process, breakage of one strand arm would cause an extremely serious fabric fault. It is difficult to detect the breakage of one strand arm and give indication for operators. In this research, a kind of photoelectric detection sensor was developed.

Research on Sirospun yarn torque using airflow false twisting device

Journal of the Textile Institute, 2013
Yarn torque is one of the most important indexes of yarn quality, which is determined on the mechanical state of the constituent fibers and their configuration in the yarn. The fiber tension within a yarn was proposed to be the most influential factor governing the magnitude of yarn torque by Bennett and Postle. Therefore, the research on Sirospun yarn

Effect of Strand Spacing and Twist Multiplier on Cotton Sirospun Yarn

Textile Research Journal, 1998
For combed cotton yarns, the wider the strand spacing is in Sirospun, the better the yarn properties are in terms of tenacity, Uster hairiness, abrasion resistance, and trapped strand twist.

Dynamic model of sirospun process. Part I: theoretical dynamic model

Journal of the Textile Institute, 2010
In this paper, an improved dynamic model has been developed for predicting the oscillation motion of the convergence point. Compared to previous research research, this model presents a more practical expression of sirospun yarn forming based on improved dynamic analysis.

Geometry Condition for Optimal Two-strand Yarn Spinning Part I: Sirospun

Textile Research Journal, 2009
A geometry condition for optimal two-strand yarn spinning was obtained. The results showed that by choosing suitable geometry parameters, the spinning process could be optimally matched.
