The quality of fabric knitted from cotton Sirospun1 yarn

International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology, 2000
The fine gauge plain weft knitted fabrics knitted from cotton Sirospun1 yarns are more durable and suitable for summer wear. It was found that they have considerable bursting strength, superior abrasion resistance, superior pilling resistance, greater air resistance, cooler hand‐feel and greater thermal conductivity than the fabrics knitted from two ...

Effect of Lubrication on Tensile, Frictional, and Weaving Properties of Sirospun Wool Yarn

Textile Research Journal, 1989
The role of capillarity in improving the cohesion and tensile properties of oiled yam is discussed and experimentally tested. The effect is significant for low twist Sirospun yam and results in a lower rate of warp breaks than with a wax lubricant.

Quality Improvement of Sirospun Yarns Through Use of Finer Rovings

Textile Research Journal, 1990
Optimization of Sirospun yam quality is an ongoing process. The compactness of the yam appears to be an important factor. In this paper, we show that for a given yam count, a lower draft produces a stronger and more even yarn.

Investigation of the fastness properties and color values of cotton fabrics knitted from ring spun and Sirospun®yarns

Journal of the Textile Institute, 2011
Sirospun yarn production is a new approach to produce two‐folded and twisted yarns. This method integrates the spinning and folding action in a single step. Therefore, it may have some important advantages such as simplicity of the process, lower production costs, lower investment, space saving, etc.

Effect of sirospun spinning with a press bar top pin on qualities of flax/cotton blended yarn

Textile Research Journal, 2011
Sirospun spinning was most commonly used to decrease hairiness of flax/cotton yarn, and two press bars installed in the back drafting zone were mainly applied to improve the evenness of flax/cotton yarn. The effects of the two parameters of the back drafting zone, such as the ratch of the back drafting zone and the ratio of the back drafting zone, on ...

The Effect of Testing Speed on the Hairiness of Ring-spun and Sirospun Yarns

Journal of the Textile Institute, 1997
This paper examines the effect of testing speed on yarn-hairiness results. The number of hairs in different length groups and the S 3 values are considered in this study.

A Research on spinnability of 100% polyester and polyester - Cotton blend sirospun yarns [%100 polyester ve polyester / pamuk karişimi sirospun ipliklerin egrilebilirliginin incelenmesi]

2019
Sirospun spinning system, which holds two-folded yarn at one process, was promoted by some changes on ring spinning machines. From past to present various researches on Sirospun yarn production are existed and various parameters which affected yarn properties were analyzed. On this study, yarn properties of Sirospun blended yarns were investigated. The

A Statistical Model for Predicting Yarn Evenness of Cotton Sirospun Yarns

2015
Raw material costs constitute the majority of the yarn production costs, therefore it is critically important to select the suitable cotton blend and to know required fibre characteristics for spinning. This article is a part of a comprehensive work including the experimental research and the modeling of the physical and mechanical properties of the ...
