A comparison of Forbush Decreases driven by ICMEs and SIRs

open access: yes
International audienceSolar wind structures passing Earth can shield Earth from Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs), producing variations in the GCR flux that can be observed by ground-based detectors. In this paper we study the differences of Forbush decreases (

Bayesian inverse ensemble forecasting for COVID‐19

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Variations in strains of COVID‐19 have a significant impact on the rate of surges and on the accuracy of forecasts of the epidemic dynamics. The primary goal for this article is to quantify the effects of varying strains of COVID‐19 on ensemble forecasts of individual “surges.” By modelling the disease dynamics with an SIR model, we solve the ...

Purification, Fluorescent Labeling, and Detyrosination of Mammalian Cell Tubulin for Biochemical Assays

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microtubules play essential roles in numerous cellular processes. All microtubules are built from the protein tubulin, yet individual microtubules can differ spatially and temporally due to their tubulin isotype composition and post‐translational modifications (PTMs).

Mathematical modeling of the spread of the coronavirus under strict social restrictions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView., 2021
We formulate a simple susceptible‐infectious‐recovery (SIR) model to describe the spread of the coronavirus under strict social restrictions. The transmission rate in this model is exponentially decreasing with time. We find a formula for basic reproduction function and estimate the maximum number of daily infected individuals.

Enabling Ultrastable Microbubbles With Graphene Aerogel Enrichment and Machine Learning for Highly Efficient Carbon Storage

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
This study aims to introduce a novel‐designed structure of the colloidal aphron microbubbles reinforced by incorporating hydrophobic aerographene microparticles onto the hydrophobic outer shell. This results in the formation of a robust composite film and armored microbubble that offers exceptional ultrastability under elevated pressures of up to 400 ...

Protective effects of adiponectin receptor agonists against equine lamellar endoplasmic reticulum stress

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Lamellar endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress occurs in hyperinsulinemia‐associated and sepsis‐related laminitis. Adiponectin is associated with reduced laminitis risk and inhibits ER stress in other species. Objectives To induce ER stress in ex vivo equine lamellar cells using pharmacological agents.

Development of a prognostic scoring system for systemic inflammatory response syndrome in donkeys

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) is associated with increased mortality in horses with gastrointestinal (GI) disease. However, there are no data relating to naturally occurring SIRS in donkeys. Objectives To determine SIRS frequency in donkeys with GI disease. To develop a donkey‐specific prognostic SIRS score.

Cuproptosis‐Related Genes in Immune Infiltration and Diagnosis in Hepatitis B Virus‐Related Acute Liver Failure

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
The role of cuproptosis in HBV‐ALF was explored via bioinformatics and liver biopsy tissues. There are some crosstalks among cuproptosis, immune infiltration, and ferroptosis (The figure was created by Bio Render). ABSTRACT Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection poses a significant challenge to global health, particularly in developing countries such as ...
